MARYANNE JACOBSEN
Originally from the rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania, Maryanne Jacobsen sold her thriving West Chester dance school in the late nineties and subsequently moved to Florida. It was there that Maryanne finally had the opportunity to indulge in a childhood dream to become a visual artist. With color the motivating factor in her desire to paint, she picked up a palette knife and the magic of creation began. The love affair is still in high gear and Maryanne feels truly blessed to have found one more passion in a life that has been filled with many artistic accomplishments. A colorist and contemporary impressionist, over the
past years Maryanne has been juried into many local and prestigious
national shows including among others the American Impressionist Society,
American Women Artists and NOAPS Best of America exhibits. She has won
many awards and has been juried into many plein air events. Collected
both nationally and abroad, corporate collectors include The Ritz Carlton
in Naples, Florida. Although primarily self-taught, she has taken workshops
from artists across the country that she most admires including Robert
Liberace, David Leffel, Clayton Beck, Kenn Backhaus and Kim English.
Her Influences include the famous colorists Henry Hensche and Charles
Hawthorne, as well as the great Russian Impressionists Fechin, Bongart
and others. June Lilcas
