JADE CHAMBERS
From an early age, native Oregonian Jade Chambers (b.1990) thrived in creativity and was encouraged and instructed by the women in her family. It wasn’t until early college years that she began using art as a personal expression. It became a way for her to process and experience her world. Jade studied Art at Oregon State University and received her degree in Elementary Education from Southern Oregon University in 2014. After teaching for four years she left education to raise her son and create artwork full time. Many of her acrylic paintings are in black and white, focusing on the shadow and light. She uses contrast in a way that it captures the simple beauty of her subjects. The striking images are often indicative of the nurturer she has been for many years, even before becoming a mother, or the playfulness she has seen and admired in young children. She is inspired by how the natural world can reflect the emotional experience of human nature.
